LOTTERY: HIGHEST SINGLE-DAY INSTANT GAME SALES SINCE FIRST DAY IN 2004

NASHVILLE – Instant Game sales on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 were $10,151,891 – the highest single day total since the Tennessee Education Lottery’s (TEL) record-setting first day in 2004.

“Our mission at the Tennessee Education Lottery is to raise money for education in Tennessee, and to do that we are always looking for new ways to make it exciting for our players,” TEL President and CEO Rebecca Paul Hargrove said. “We introduce new games on the first Tuesday of every month, calling it ‘Tennessee Tuesday,’ and this selection of games seems particularly popular.”

The Tennessee Education Lottery’s first day of operation, January 20, 2004, is still one for the record books with instant game sales totaling $10,800,300.

For the first two quarters of FY2021, the Lottery transferred a total of $231,145,000 in education funding. Later this month, the TEL will announce its FY2021 3Q transfer.

The TEL encourages all players to take appropriate health and safety precautions when purchasing tickets at Lottery retailers.
